Stephen Dixon

Engineer – Geotechnical
Newcastle, UK

I am part of the geotechnical and geoenvironmental team in Newcastle, and really enjoying living in the north-east. I am an experienced Engineering Geologist with extensive practical knowledge of intrusive ground investigations. Having worked in West Africa and West Australia, it’s great to be back in the UK and working to British and European Standards. Though my previous experience has been running site investigations in the field, my previous roles include two years running offshore data logging teams on oil and gas rigs in the North Sea.

I am actively working towards my CGeol status and in September 2016 I presented the findings of my dissertation to the Geological Society in London. I am the project manager for the construction of a sanitation block for around 100 children at St Joseph’s School for the hearing Impaired in Sierra Leone. I am also a Scout Leader in Newcastle, after having been a leader of an Explorer Troop whilst living in London.
