I am a chartered building services engineer and Fellow of CIBSE with a specialism in sustainable/environmental building design, client design advice and low carbon master planning. I have 27 years of experience and have completed high performance projects around the world whilst working for various consultancies. These include the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Tower Place in London, the Parkview Battersea Power Station scheme, and an owner occupier, low carbon office in Epsom.

I have recently completed my own certified Passivhaus in Hampshire. This has been a fantastic learning experience with real hands on development of the performance modelling and construction system. The house is performing better than predicted with reduced energy, fantastic comfort and high quality internal air quality

I am a regular judge for the Construction News Awards and the RIBA sustainable building award. This has given me great insight to where construction industry best practise rests and where the challenges are.

I have a strong interest in Architecture, the built environment and building performance. In 2016 I chaired the UKGBC task group – delivering Building Performance. This work identified 5 key success factors that can be implemented now to deliver better and reliable performance outcomes.
