Ilaria Fichera
Graduate Engineer, Acoustics
Birmingham, UK
I joined Cundall in April 2018. I am a motivated and enthusiastic graduate acoustic engineer focused on environmental, building and architectural acoustic design.
Before joining Cundall, I completed my master’s degree course of Building Engineering and Architecture in Catania University. During these years, I mainly explored Room and Architectural Acoustics. Combining this new passion with my love for music, it led me to choose this field as my future career. I have spent several months researching Stage and Room Acoustics at the Acoustic Laboratory of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) followed with learning related modules to improve my knowledge in the field of acoustics.
I am currently working towards completing a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control at Derby University and going through the process of becoming a chartered engineer with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).
I am passionate about mentoring the new generation of engineers and make them interested in acoustics.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, listening and discovering new music, dancing and travelling around the world. I am a theatre, orchestra music and ballet performances fanatic.”
