Edwin Wealend – Head of Research and Innovation
London, UK

I am a chartered engineer with twelve years’ experience, joining Cundall in 2010. I lead the practice’s innovation and research efforts, with a focus on digital tools, sustainability, indoor environmental quality and technical best-practice. I am chair of the CIBSE Air Quality working group, a member of the CIBSE Knowledge Generation Panel and occasional contributor to the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Innovation in Buildings Workstream.

I am an expert in the application of engineering to improve air quality, including monitoring, filtration, material selection and source control, working alongside our ambient air quality specialists.

I have produced low energy design strategies for a wide range of commercial and domestic projects, including the application of renewable energy technologies. I am particularly experienced in the field of simulation, passive design and natural ventilation and how these strategies can be used to create healthy, comfortable buildings.

If I had any spare time, you’d find me riding a bike somewhere hilly. I currently have a young baby, so my time is spent trying to get him on two wheels as quickly as possible.
