At the end of September every year the whole of Cundall is mobilised for global thought leadership. World Green Building Week (WGBW) is a fantastic event as it makes us, and others in the industry, take time to think about global issues and how to overcome them. It allows us to consider content that is appropriate for audiences in 20 cities across the world, ask questions of these audiences and record the debate and outcomes so that we can understand more about sustainability issues and the future progress.

Three years ago we asked our audiences about the future of sustainability, the drivers and obstacles. One of the things that came up across the world was that health and wellbeing would be a key subject for changing the way people think about sustainability and their surroundings. Three years on and health and wellbeing is all anyone wants to talk about from Manchester to Melbourne, Sydney to Shanghai. It was important for us to see this area strengthening and now we are helping to lead the market in the use of the WELL Standard® and balancing the demands of health and wellbeing with the fundamentals of sustainable development.

Taking time to think is essential in any industry as is asking questions of your peers and then applying this to your particular areas of expertise so that you can inform those around you. WGBW allows us to ensure that we do this every year. If you want to be a part of one of our events for 2016 please find the one nearest to you on our website. We will be presenting on “Healthy Buildings in Healthy Cities” and once again asking you some questions about the challenges that you face. We will also be relaying some of the findings that we have from a number of the WELL Standard® projects that we have across the world.
