What a load of rubbish!
By Joanne Sim
Recently, I had the pleasure of organising Clean up Australia day (I am the one in the daggy yellow vest to indicate I was the team leader). As part of Cundall’s One Planet Company principles we look at various ways we can reduce our impact on the environment, this includes protecting natural habitats, so I decided to organise a team from Cundall to take part in Clean Up Australia day.
I often go for walks during my lunch break around the harbour, I love this however the litter in and around the water always disappoints me. I therefore got a team from our Sydney office together to clean up the park in Milsons Point just opposite our office.
In two hours we collected 8.7kg of rubbish (44% was recycled afterwards) and around 1,300 cigarette butts. It was a fun afternoon, I appreciated the whole team’s enthusiasm and efforts.
Below is a video explaining the day and with interviews of those who helped.
